Julie was born in Chicago, raised in Connecticut. She kept moving south down the east coast with each degree earned. She married and moved to the serene Gulf Coast of Mississippi. She holds degrees in mathematics, chemistry, and applied mathematics, and is a professor at her local university.

She plays violin and piano and hopes to get better at the cello this year. But being outdoors is home, gardening, swimming, kayaking, boating, and sitting under a live oak with a book.

After Hurricane Katrina devastated the Mississippi coast in 2005 Julie rebuilt life and home on a stronger foundation. She lives with her husband, two daughters, a slippery frog, a feisty dog, three kayaks, a boat, and endless dreams of doing more ...

You can find her in a boat, on a beach, with a book, or all three!
